When measuring, note that there is no “give” in the material. In other words, the cover won't stretch if it proves smaller than the mattress. Trying to force a mattress protector that's too small onto your mattress will likely cause it to tear. Note that customers with mattresses that do not match the specifications/sizing of our covers often elect to purchase a larger cover e.g. a double instead of a single and tuck the excess under the mattress.
